A pointed tale

A two pointed dagger
aimed heart to heart
he is pulling her in
she is pushing apart

What a dream it is
a real nightmare
a vision of the future
a physical scare

She wakes up shaking
flushed and sweating
need to leave him
go now and no waiting

A vision of self destruction

A tale of a relationhip gone awry
A dream causing her to wake.
She started often wanting to cry
A terrifying dream - vivid not a fake

The image of a double pointed knife
held between their chests
Trying so hard to finish their life
difficult breathing heaving breasts

He is trying hard to pull her in
She pushes hard to resist
heart to heart the dagger pins
her strength resistance anger hissed

Her will and need to live survives
Her need triumphs over his fearsome hold
Her life and control now revives
The dream so real leaves her cold

Do I dare to care

Ripples from across the ocean

Should I run and hide
from where my heart
used to reside?

Should I blank contact
from one I loved?
Is this the way to react?

What turmoil will it cause
in my mending chest?
How long is a reasonable pause?

When is the space enough?
Is the time ever right
to smooth out the rough?

Will it deepen the divide
or heal the void?
How does one decide?

Enough questions unanswered
They take time to resolve.
Trust your instinct the voice you heard

When the time came to leave
you listened then and again now
hear when the time is right to relieve

The tension you feel inside now
and choose to make amends or not
the gentle voice will tell you how

Sunflower

A packet of seed for you to plant
Watch them grow and flower
Watch them lean and slant
Towards the sun - their power

Truly optimistic tall and bright
Strong though they like support
Reaching acheiving their full height
Growing from the sun they sought

You are a wonder, a true delight
You are so full of life, new things begun
You are like their morning light
You are like their "Evening Sun"
