What I miss..........

Things I miss and have yet to find again

Being home first with the kettle on
being home second knowing tea is on the way
Trying new menus picked together
and sharing a bottle of wine

the sound of you in the bath or shower
someone else at home flushing the loo
the sound of familiar foot steps
a call in the morning for requests

working together in the garden
side by side or apart
buying plants and planning spots
colour themes and paths

the house opened up in summer
and fresh flowers in the vase
doing pratical things for the home
chopping wood for the fire

gettng the fire going in the winter
knowing it would light a smile on your face
curling up on the sofa
and some else being there

a gentle caress a pat on the bum
the stroke of my hair a brief kiss
a massage or a scrub in the bath
walking hand in hand down the street

crawling in to bed and it being warm
curling up and holding you there
the smooth gentleness of your skin
the sound of your sleeping breath

your patience at my vagaries
your winning smile on your lips
a gentle knowing of someone
calm relaxed companionship
