Irony is fighting for Jesus

Heard of "Weapons of peace"
Is this a delicious sort of joke?
my amazement doesn't cease
fork tongued words still spoke

Religion and power gone mad
statements on behalf of the voters
really do make many folk sad
politicians are big fat boasters

looking for image and spin
chasing only a short term gain
what they do is a terrible sin
their glibness causes real pain

They use religion as a pawn
to futher their glory and end
to the war mongers they fawn
truth they feel happy to bend

The masses are guity too
our inertia sustains the status quo
stirring and rebellions are few
twisted politics and religion our foe

We do count and should shout
the earth our planet is shared
we together have massive clout
our children need to see we cared
