Rose's seasons

All flowers start young and tender
green tight packed newness
eager reaching buds on
stems tall fresh and slender
open hearted available yearning
desirous hearts bursting forth

Flowers swell and unfold
open sweet scented colourful
lush extravagent soft silky
blushing cheeks red and bold
Petals scatter your heady smell
fading wasting dissembling now

Petals crushed leaves discarded
now melting into the ground
thorny defence and bitter hops
red heart exposed raw and hardened
lasting so much longer
naked exposed and enduring

Wow Beardy,

You have a lot of new stuff on here! This one is my favorite; so true and very much visual... especially with my large rose bush just outside. Funny how when we cut those hops off, it allows for more buds to grow!

Looks like you are working through some hard stuff lately. As always, I wish you the best!

Thanks Hope particularly for the gardening tip. May be I could add a verse to end it on a positive note

Stuff I am working through not all mine but inspired by thoughts of others as well
